SK's New Album + First Book

Hello friends.

Its me, Stephen. There is so much that I could say, but I think I’m going to let this video explain what’s up.

I'm making plans to record new songs and have begun writing a collection of essays about life, marriage, and music. I hope they delight and heal you. If you trust me on that front, we have a slate of offerings that support the creation of the new album and the book. Love to each of you, and see you later, see you soon!

xoxo,
SK

What Better To Do After Spring Break Than Plan Summer Break!

SKBBQ8.png

SK just got back from Spring Break with the whole family in Florida, & we've been hard at work on the 8th Annual SK Family BBQ in the Marionette office. We have got some great updates for you:

  • We are so excited to tell you our openers for both nights:Colin Elmore will be opening on Friday, & fresh off our Winter Turns To Spring 2018 Tour, Hailey Steele will be opening Saturday
  • Former Sixer Boots Factor will be sitting in on Friday night, & MikelParis™ of O.A.R. will be sitting in on Saturday night. Expect to hear some of their own songs in the mix as well!

ALSO!
Want to vote on which album SK plays from start to finish on Friday night?

Get your Field Day passes by tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17th!
We will send out a survey to all attendees to vote on the album on Wednesday. Again, the ONLY way to get a vote is to have your passes purchased by Tuesday--  but don't worry, passes will still remain on sale until we sell out.

Halfway Through Winter Turns To Spring Tour Updates!

IMG_1480.JPG

Hey friends new and old, it's Stephen here checking in from Nashville, TN where we play tonight. Then I'll commence 13 nights in a row to bring home the record cycle of "South, West, North, East." We have lots of shows packing out and to say I'm happy about that would be the understatement of the year. Thanks for showing up for me. I'll keep showing up for you. Also, huge thanks to everyone who tags friends, shares on Facebook, or invites friends who might need these songs or stories in their life. You're the best.

Looking ahead, the Family BBQ is going to be held on June 22-23 in Chicago and we have 2 Night Passes for shows, & BBQ on sale now. Also, we are slated to perform at the White Sox game the night before, on the 21st. More on that soon, but wanted to give you a heads up that this is most likely to be an incredible weekend for this community and we'd love to have all of you there. More info & tickets: 2 Night Martyrs Concert Pass, BBQ, and Hotel Versey.

Love to you and yours. We're gonna make it through all this. You know what I mean.

February 6, 2018 Newsletter

Hey everyone. It's Stephen here. Writing you from the first bench of "North Star”, my 2015 Ford Econoline Van. We had one of my favorite sets of music ever this past Friday playing the Ann Arbor Folk Festival with two of my favorites, Jason Isbell and Lori McKenna. The thought of it is making this 13 hour haul feel a bit lighter than it might otherwise feel. I’ve added another MI show at The Ark on March 16, and will play the next night in Three Oaks, MI

Here's a couple other things about the tour I wanted to tell you... We'll be bringing the request board back out and letting you guys vote on some of the songs every night, so come early and vote if you like. Also, come early 'cause we have some great support acts. I've decided to play about half the tour solo, and Hailey Steele will support all those dates. Check out her song "Wandering Heart" on Spotify, and plan on hearing us sing some songs together. On the full band dates, we have our old friends Brian Dunne, and Native Run doing select dates. We'll also have VIP upgrades on a bunch of the dates via the Kellogg Family Store, and as always, we rely on word of mouth, and appreciate you taking time out of your busy lives to help us spread the word.

Last little orders of business, if you've missed it: I wrote, produced, and released a new song called "Orion" as a tribute to Tom Petty. If you haven't heard it, here it is. The 8th SK Family BBQ IS happening, and it's going to be held in Chicago, IL on June 22-23 with details coming soon. If you're still in a reading mood, here's an interview that came out this week with the Michigan Daily. Thanks for reading, try to be good to each other and good luck with whatever you're doing. May something light you up.

xoxo,
SK

SK co-writes title track of Grammy Nominated Robert Randolph record, “Got Soul”!

IMG_3501.jpg

Congratulations to Robert Randolph on the Grammy nomination! Stephen & Robert wrote the first single and title track, "Got Soul" together, and have written a half dozen contenders for Robert's follow up album since. SK says "He brings soul to the words from the depths of his own. A persons art isn't always recognized and that's just how things go, but when it is, it's really nice."

A Letter From SK's Manager

Hey there SK fans!

Jessica K. Martin here. I'm Stephen's manager and I'm doing a guest spot for this edition of the monthly newsletter. I wanted to pull back the curtain a little so that you could see the full scope of our team, whose job it is to "move the ball up the field." When Stephen's agent and I book a tour, my staff goes into high gear working with the venues to put the shows on sale and get the information out. We know how magical a well executed, packed SK show can be, and we hope to see that in every city if we can! We search for the best ways to get the ticket links and information about the shows in front of your beautiful faces and under your thumbs. Newsletters like this and other social media outlets tend to be the top bets because they are easy to share. So for every single one of you who has shared or liked a post, forwarded a newsletter, bought a ticket or record for a friend, and helped our grassroots effort to spread the word about our artist, we say THANK YOU!

Just when you think there is no new ground to break, Stephen will join Eric Hutchinson tomorrow for a couple of solo warm up dates in the Dakota's- including his first ever show in South Dakota! Then, SK, Jesse, and Andy leave for the first leg of the Postcard Tour in exactly 3 weeks! The trio will be playing 24 US shows with special guest Emily Hearn between September 8-October 8, and they'll be letting the fans vote on a portion of the set every single night! Right after that, SK will cross the pond for some UK shows and a visit to both Germany and Austria. Thanksgiving weekend, they are back at the Bowery Ballroom, and the new Tupelo Music Hall for two full band CD release parties. Last but not least, we are happy to announce four just added solo tour dates in December. ALL of this is to bring you the music you love, and share news of the new live record we are releasing this fall: Stephen Kellogg Tour de Forty Greatest Hits (So Far) Live.

The eagle that is TD40 Live has landed and is now available at the Kellogg Family Store. CD orders and bundles are shipping now! Digital fulfillment is underway. The vinyl, you asked- we heard, will be shipped on, or before October 15th. Your support of the Kellogg Family Store only makes us want to work harder (and none harder than the 6 Kelloggs stuffing your envelopes) to make sure you have a great experience, and keep coming back!

Thanks for sharing, thanks for reading, and see you later, see you soon!

Postcard Tour 2017 ON SALE NOW!

Hey guys...Stephen here.

I'm excited to announce "Postcard Tour 2017" coming this Fall!  Why postcard?  Because it is the 10 year anniversary of sending postcards home from the road to my children.  In 2007 I had the blues over the balance of work and family.  A thoughtful fan suggested that sending postcards home would make a good way to stay in touch with my kids while I was out on the road.  A tradition was born.  I started that night and have never turned back.  It's been a life saver for me to be able to reach out and let them know they are thought of.  The other thing thats been a life saver is to be able to perform my songs and tell my stories to each of you.  So that's exactly what's going to happen.

I'm going to be traveling with a trio and performing in listening rooms around the country.  I'll take some requests every night (more on that soon), and play songs new and old.  As our special guest we welcome Emily Hearn.  She is hands down one of the Kellogg households favorite artists and we're over the moon to have her supporting the US leg of the tour.  #KelloggTownVIP is also available in most cities through our Family Store.  Haven't visited?  Check it out.  You just might get something in your package you did not expect (could be something Greta tucks in there accidentally (true story), could be a puppy, who knows?)

The last thing is that...Thanksgiving weekend is back.  We will do two full band shows this Fall and they'll be on Thanksgiving Weekend at the new Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH and the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.  If the Bowery isn't sold out I'm quitting. Kidding. Not kidding. Love you. Not kidding.

Where can I get tickets?
You can buy weekend passes or Unity Park BBQ Day Passes by clicking the photo above.

What is it?

This is essentially the ultimate #KelloggtownVIP experience, but whereas #Kelloggtown is a meet and greet for 15-25 minutes before a show, the #SKFamilyBBQ takes place over an entire weekend. "In 2010 I asked myself the question of what would I want to do with my favorite artists? The answer I kept coming back to was, grab a burger, play some lawn games, hang out, ask them a few questions, hear a few stories, maybe hear some tunes that I wouldn’t get to hear at a normal show.” So that’s what we’ve curated here.

A weekend worth traveling in for. A weekend with many of our core fans from around the globe and in some cases, their growing families. The event has been held in Washington DC three times and Western MA twice. We are thrilled to announce the Family BBQ's return to Southern CT where Stephen lives with his family. It’s our first time in CT since it’s inception in 2010.

What does my ticket price include?

-Each ticket includes entrance to Friday and Saturday Night Concerts

-BBQ Lunch and attendance to Game Day & Kids Concert at Unity Park

-Commemorative Signed Event Poster

-3 Votes per ticket on the Saturday Night All Request Set

-Access to Friday’s Lyric Writing Seminar with SK

-Discounted Rate at the Host Hotel Trumbull Marriott

-Photo and official Meet and Greet with SK and the South, West, North, East

-10% off promo code  at the Online Kellogg Family Store

When and Where is it?

June 16th and 17th, 2017 at the Acoustic in Bridgeport, CT.

June 17th (Day) at Unity Park in Trumbull, CT

The host hotel is The Trumbull Marriott in Trumbull, CT and we have a specific discount for our event. All scheduled events are within about 10 minutes of each other.

What’s the schedule of events?

Friday 6/16

6pm: Doors, Photos with SK & SWNE, Cocktail Hour

7:30 Concert #1 at the Acoustic in Black Rock, CT:

-Lawn Games will include Corn Hole Tournament, Water Balloon Toss, Wiffle Ball Home

-Acoustic Kids Concert (this show is geared towards giving the younger ones a bit of music)

-Prize Ceremony (the winners of the events will win exclusive SK memorabilia)

6pm: Doors, Voting on the “All Requests Set”, Cocktail Hour

7:30pm Concert #2 at the Acoustic in Black Rock, CT: For their first set, Stephen and the band will be fielding a 100% fan voted on set. They will play the top selections of deep cuts and B-Sides as voted on by the Saturday Night audience. The second set will be another “Greatest Hits” offering from SK & SWNE.

Is it All Ages?
Yes it is. All children are different and we’ll leave it to you to gauge if it’s something you think your kids would be into. The Venue this year is a bar that we have rented out and each night there are two sets so it may go later than some kids would be up for. The night shows are traditional SK shows so it’s something for everyone. Only you know your family and they may want to attend the day show, and have a Mom and Dad’s night out in the evening to enjoy drink specials. SK’s family will be there taking part in the weekend festivities and it’s one of our great joys to see families come out together

Will there be day passes?
Currently you can buy a day pass to the BBQ, Lawn Games and Kids Performance. This doesn’t include any of the other weekend perks or admission to the night time shows. If there is still space available on Memorial Day, we will release passes for the remaining tickets on Friday and Saturday night. This is a very intimate venue experience and we’ve currently sold 1/3 of the tickets with two months to go, so it’s a gamble if you’re hoping to be part of the weekend, but if there are day tickets available that’s when we’ll be putting them on sale via the event link and our website.

SK touring the West with Drew Holcomb this Spring

Drew Holcomb is a great artist and a great guy. He’s been a friend for a while. We’ve sung songs together, comisserated through painful experiences and laughed some times too. He was kind enough to include my newest record #SouthWestNorthEast in his rad record of the month club @Magnolia Record Club. I’m truly honored to be a part of the Souvenir Tour. See ya soon folks!
